About

I am an archaeologist who is passionate about people getting involved in their history, heritage and archaeology.

We are the sum of our ancestors and culture, which travels with us through time like an invisibility cloak – it is there, we are part of it, it is in our DNA. Therefore we have a responsibility to protect and look after it for future generations, to understand where we came from, why we have the culture, beliefs, myths and customs we do, and to pass on our knowledge to others.

Without understanding our past we cannot protect and preserve our future.

Behind this blog is my personal passion to see every Commonwealth War Grave remembered on the 11th November each year with a poppy cross or wreath. Men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom and the lives we enjoy today.

It is unbelievably heart wrenching to see graves empty of Remembrance each year,

A crowd funding project is being developed to honour the Fallen.

If you would like to be involved with promotion, laying and collecting the crosses, or learn more about the project please email me at

I am so interested in your blog and your project! I am an historian but I have only recently become interested in archaeology. Do you need another pair of hands?
